My Wardrobe Necessitites

With it being the new year I decided to have a big clear out and get rid of some clothes I don't wear anymore, making room in my wardrobe for some new clothes. Below I have put together a list of my favourite and must have items for this time of year.

Plain T's
I love plain T shirts they are the most basic item but they are an absolute essential in my wardrobe, I wear one almost every day. I'm always picking up a new T shirt on shopping trips, black and white T's are a must have but some other colours I have picked up are grey, khaki and blush pink. They are so easy to wear, I have a bit of an obsession with jackets and they are perfect to wear underneath those or any other statement piece.

Fur Gilet
A gilet is a great and fashionable alternative for a coat or jacket if you don't want to completely cover yourself up, of course in this weather I would make sure I'm wearing something warm and long sleeved underneath.

Leather Jacket
I rave about leather jackets a lot but its a fact that they are a timeless item, they never go out of fashion, they can give a simple outfit a bit of an edge and they go with pretty much everything.

Denim Jacket
I just picked up a denim jacket last week in the sale at Zara, another easy to wear item which will probably be in my wardrobe forever. I love wearing different textures together like leather and denim.

Bomber Jacket
Lord knows I love a bomber jacket, I've probably mentioned them in my last 5 fashion posts but I'm still loving them and they don't seem to be going out of fashion any time soon!

Leather leggings/trousers
Leather can add a bit of excitement to an otherwise plain outfit, these can work dressed down for a day look and dressed up for a night out.

Ankle boots
I've always opted for long boots but this year I've bought some ankle boots, last year saw an over-the-knee over load so I've decided to go for something different for everyday wear.

Statement heels
I love to wear a statement heel for a night out, I think shoes are just as important as the outfit you wear and they can completely finish the look off, a lot of fashion at the moment is very basic,  for example a block coloured slinky dress or two piece, so a stylish pair of shoes can really set an outfit off and be the talking point of the outfit.

Jumpers
Jumpers are definitely a necessity for this time of the year; high neck, roll neck, cropped, oversized, cable knit, there are so many styles and I just can't resist picking them up on shopping trips, especially at H&M they have so many to choose from at affordable prices.

Trainers
I've never been a big fan of trainers but recently I've had a change of heart and I can't complain about how comfortable they are! I love to style trainers with black skinny jeans for a casual day look.

Winter Coat
Theres nothing better than a new winter coat, I think its a good idea to upgrade your coat every year as this is the item you're probably going to wear the most and trends are constantly changing, this year I chose a shearling jacket which is very on trend as well as very warm.

Blush, Nude & Denim

bomber jacket - House of CB
cami - River Island
skirts - Sportsgirl
heels - Public Desire
bag - YSL

The weather in Darlington is cold, rainy and very depressing and as much as I would like to be posting summer fashion inspiration, today just isn't the day for that because frankly that would make me more fed up because I haven't seen much sun since I got back from Ibiza last month. So instead of a collage that consists of a bright and colourful swimming costume and over-sized shades I put together this little number, something more weather appropriate. I think this outfit would be perfect for a date or day trip, the chic satin bomber jacket makes it weather appropriate and if the sun did decide to come out it can be removed to reveal the cool cami, I think camis are a necessity in every girls summer wardrobe because they are so easy to wear and are perfect to wear under jackets, blazers etc. For the lower half I chose a denim midi skirt, which is on my wish list after seeing celebs like Kylie Jenner and Beyonce sporting them with a casual day time look, a denim skirt is a cute and fashionable alternative for jeans and shorts. For footwear I chose nude heels, these particular shoes combine lace and a pointed toe which are two features in a shoe that I usually go for, lace up heels have been really popular over the last few seasons and I can't get enough of them. To complete the look I accessorized with a YSL over the shoulder chain bag which finishes the outfit beautifully and makes it look more expensive.

A Summer OOTD & FOTD

what I wore
top - Ebay
shorts - H&M
belt - River Island
shoes - River Island

To my surprise the weather hasn't been all that bad since I returned to England (besides the expected showers and some thunder and lightening on an evening) so luckily I can still wear shorts and they haven't been packed away in my suitcase ready for my next holiday. Last weekend I went to a friends BBQ and dressed up as if I was still in Ibiza, you have to make the most of good weather in England because its hard to come by. I wore all white with a tan belt and gold wedges and accessories. For my makeup I wanted to create a smouldering gold smokey eye, a neutral lip and a very bronzed complexion with a shimmering highlight on my cheek bones for a healthy glow. To achieve my bouncy and wavy hair, after drying I simply smoothed over the top of my hair with GHD straighteners then curled the ends.

Spring Lookbook Ft. First YouTube Video

I've finally made my first YouTube video - its not perfect but its a start. I have made a video 'Lookbook' which includes some of my recent purchases and some of my most favourite pieces to wear this season. It can be difficult to choose an outfit in the Spring, especially where I come from - last week it was snowing and today the sun is beaming. So for that reason I have mixed the looks up throwing in some shorts as well as a waterfall coat for the colder days.
I decided to make this short video because I really enjoy watching these myself and I think they're more fun and interesting than pictures.

Black Lace & Leather

I created another look similar to this one in my previous post. This look reminds me of something Kylie Jenner or Khloe Kardashian would wear. I would say its a girly look with an edge and is the perfect casual-but-dressy look to wear shopping or for a day trip... preferably not in the winter. I'm loving distressed denim shorts and will definitely be purchasing a pair when the weather starts heating up. To finish off the look I added a leather jacket, which I think is a must have in every girls wardrobe because they just never go out of fashion

jacket - Burberry
vest - Carolina Herrera
shorts - One Teaspoon
heels - Chinese Laundry
bag - YSL

Khaki & Kasual

I'm obsessed with this outfit I created, which includes trends I'm loving at the moment such as khaki, distressed denim and gladiator style sandals/boots. I also love the bomber jacket - khaki is everywhere at the moment, I think it's a great alternative for black.

jacket - Topshop
vest - Carolina Herrera
shorts - Levis (custom)

More Recent Day Time Looks

Below I have put together a selection of some of my favourite day time and casual looks I have wore over the past week. I've been loving mixings things up and creating new looks with my winter wardrobe but I've decided to put a stop to buying winter clothes now and I'm ready to start investing in my summer wardrobe!
For more regular OOTD updates make sure to follow my instagram account. I also would like to mention that I have Depop account on which I am selling lots of clothes so make sure to check it out!

All black everything - it has to be said!
I love this Kenzo inspired jumper from H&M I had to have it, I couldn't possibly say no to such a bargain. I paired it up with leather trousers and my good old thigh high boots.

nudes, fur and denim.
I can't get enough of turtle necks, I especially love this nude one its such a great colour. My fur gilet was a Christmas present and it is from a boutique shop in Leeds.

heels or boots?
This is one of my favourite outfits at the moment because I feel so comfortable and trendy at the same time. I love this off white jumper, over size jumpers have definitely been one of my favourite trends this season. Unfortunately the picture looks as if I'm wearing black leggings, they are in fact burgundy leather look leggings with panel details on the knee. I will add a close up of the leggings so you can get a better idea of the complete look.
I posted this picture on my Instagram quoting 'heels or boots?' and the majority of my followers voted boots, which look do you prefer?

Recent Day Time Looks

Firstly I would like to say I hope all my readers have had a lovely Christmas and happy new year to you all! As you can imagine I have been very busy over the past few weeks so I haven't had time to update my blog but I am glad to be back and I have lots of ideas for new posts which I am excited to share with you all.
I've been buying lots of new clothes lately so I thought I would put together a selection of pictures focusing on my favourite day time looks from over the Christmas period.

I am in love with my new trench coat I got from the Zara sale. I was bought a casual puffer style coat for christmas but I also wanted a more smart and dressy coat, so I was very pleased when my friend spotted this for me on a shopping trip. I am obsessed with the colour 'camel' it is so wearable and looks great with a tan.

I'm wearing:
trench coat - Zara
turtle neck - Zara
jeggings - H&M
over the knee boots - Leggs (Darlington)
bag - Louis Vuitton

I finally bought my self a fedora hat and I've been wearing it religiously ever since, I love it because it is so versatile and easy to wear. Another item I have been loving this season is the jumper dress; they are so cosy and comfortable. This is something else which I have just picked up recently after struggling to find one that is the right fit but H&M saved the day again with with this cowl neck black number.

I'm wearing:
jumper dress - H&M
hat - H&M
boots - Zara

This outfit incorporates some of my favourite trends from the autumn/winter season - the fedora hat, leather and nudes! I've had so much wear out of this leather skirt, it was a great buy, I get bored of wearing jeans on a daily basis, so a comfortable and versatile skirt like this is a perfect alternative.

I'm wearing:

sheep skin gilet - Joseph
leather skirt - River Island
boots - Zara
hat - H&M
bag - Louis Vuitton

Style Set: All Black Casual/Trendy

This is a new addition to my blog which I am really excited about. I will regularly be posting 'style sets' and creating different looks with items of clothing I have found across the web. This is the first look I have put together and I decided to go for something simple and casual but trendy. This teamed with a fur gilet and black opaque tights would be the perfect ensemble for a day out Christmas shopping. This outfit embraces some of this seasons fashion staples; the turtle neck sweater, leather skirt and knee high boots and to accessorize I jazzed the outfit up with a Fedora hat.

Recent OOTD

This is an outfit I wore for a night out recently and is something very different to what I would usually wear. I ordered this jumpsuit online and wasn't sure if I was going to love or hate it when it arrived, in the meantime I seen in hanging up in H&M and to be honest, it looked awful! H&M deliveries can take a while so it came about 2 weeks after I ordered it, I bought a size 10 which was too big and unflattering so I took it to the store to exchange for a size 8, which they didn't have in stock so I bought a size 6 which surprisingly fit me and looked much better. I think this boiler suit style jumpsuit is suppose to be a loose and casual fit but which isn't really my style, I prefer a tighter and neat fit. The colour is a khaki green which isn't a colour I would regularly wear especially on a night out, I usually wear quite bright and bold colours or something really girly. This is why I decided to spice it up a bit with my orange court shoes, which again I wasn't sure would work but I like the pop of colour they bring to the outfit. My jewellery was very basic I wore my gold YSL logo earrings which I am loving at the minute and a simple gold chain. For my makeup I went quite bold with really smokey bronze/black eyes and pink lips, I curled my hair with GHD's which I clipped back but later decided to let it fall naturally.

24/09 OOTD

blouse - Warehouse
skirt - River Island
shoes - River Island

I have recently been buying my first winter purchases including this leather skirt, I wore it for the first time on this day and seen as though winter hasn't hit us just yet, I brightened the skirt up with some neon colours. I love this skirt its really comfortable and a great fit and I can see my self wearing it a lot through out the winter as it can be worn day and night time. The orange shoes are also a recent purchase, I seen them and had to have them I am obsessed with points and want a pair in every colour. Surprisingly these shoes look great with a lot of outfits as colour clash is on trend. I opted for silvery chunky jewellery with this outfit which I borrowed from my mam. I wore my hair in a wavy pony tail and went for a neutral makeup look with a bold lip using MAC 'Candy Yum-Yum' lipstick which is the same colour as my blouse.

Recent OOTD

I feel the need to make up for my lack of posts lately, I love wearing white and bright colours in the summer and I try to wear as little black as possible, so I thought I would post this look from last month before I begin posting my autumn/winter looks in which black and dark colours will be a staple!

top - Miss Francesca Couture
jeans - H&M
shoes - River Island

With this outfit I wore muted gold accessories and went for a bold makeup look, wearing super smokey gold eyes and nude lips and I pulled my hair into a sleek pony tail.

15/06 OOTD

T-shirt - Cheeki Boutique
Jeans - Zara
Shoes - River Island
 Bag - Louis Vuitton
Sunglasses - ChloƩ

As we all know North East weather is so unpredictable and yesterday was another one of those in between days, I would hate to be caught in the rain in a pair of shorts. So for a day shopping I opted for this outfit, I love this celebrity inspired T-shirt I am wearing as seen on the beautiful Cheryl Cole, when I seen it online I had to have it and I knew exactly how I would wear it. I bought the T-shirt from an online shop called Cheeki Boutique which is run by my friend. For more gorgeous celeb inspired clothes and bikinis 'Like' Cheeki Boutique on Facebook and follow @cheekiboutique on twitter and instagram.

I had to get a close up on my sunglasses, I bought these 2 years ago and have found myself wearing them a lot lately after putting them away last year and replacing them with my Ray Bans. However this year I am thinking the bigger the better when it comes to sunglasses and these ones are BIG and so on trend, I love them and I will definitely be wearing them in Ayia Napa this summer!
