10/08 OOTD

I love nothing more than dressing up and going out and dancing all night and Newcastle is one of my favourite places to do so, thats where I went on Saturday night. What makes a night out even better for me is when you have a brand new outfit your dying to wear and deciding how to have my hair and make up. The 2 piece I wore was from an independent dress maker whom sells unique clothing and one off pieces. The fabric of this outfit is inspired by Emilio Pucci, a world-renowned Italian designer recognised for its geometric prints in a kaleidoscope of colours.

The print and design of my outfit also reminded me of the 70's era and because it was so bold, I ensured my accessories and hair was muted, however I thought it was an opportunity to get creative with my makeup and use some exciting colours.

For more details on my makeup read my previous post here.
In this picture you can see my earrings and bracelet which are broth from Crystal & Co

I wanted my hair out of my face on this occasion and the focus to be on my outfit and makeup but I wanted to create a twist on a normal ponytail, as you can see my hair was put in a french plait and a low curly pony tail. My hair was done by my friend who is currently training to be a hairdresser.

2 piece by designer 'Ruby Violet'

The shoes I wore are Christian Louboutins, I received them for my 18th birthday and they are my favourite shoes I own but they certainly weren't designed for comfort.

'Vibrant Pink' Makeup Look

Lately I have been trying some more 'adventurous' makeup looks, focusing on my eye makeup in particular. Instead of the brown/gold/bronze smokey eyes I would usually go for I have been using other colours which really work to compliment my eye colour and make them pop!
Unfortunately the makeup used went to waste as I decided to get my brushes out at 10 o'clock at night but I got a few pictures and I created an eye makeup look that was perfect for the outfit I was wearing the following weekend. I think the colours I used are gorgeous, they worked so well together and I loved the outcome!

Small MAC Haul

MAC 'Chatterbox' Lipstick - Whats more exciting than a new MAC lipstick? A new free MAC lipstick! If you didn't already know about the Back 2 MAC programme heres the low down - take any 6 empty MAC containers and in return you get a free lipstick of your choice. It can be hard to pick from the collection unless you already had a colour in mind, which I didn't this time so I was holding 5 shades of pink and had various swatches on my hand but in the end I decided on 'Chattebox' as I had seen this in tutorials before and thought it looked lovely. The colour is described as 'bright red-pink' I have tried so many MAC lipsticks looking for an everyday pink and this is perfect, although it certainly can be worn for a night time look too, I can see this one going down fast!

MAC 'Club' Eyeshadow - So I couldn't go to the MAC counter and just walk away with a lipstick, especially when there is still slots to be filled in my MAC eyeshadow palette. Every time I'm at the eyeshadow stall I find myself picking up colours I already have because they stand out the most to me but this time 'Club' caught my eye, I swatched it on my hand and thought it was so similar to the MAC 'Blue Brown' pigment which I had mentioned in my 'June Makeup Wishlist' so I decided instead of spending £17.00 on a pigment I would only spend £10.00 for this eyeshadow. This colour is described as 'red-brown with green pearl' and 'Blue Brown' is described as 'brown with blue-green pearl'.

MAC 'Sushi Flower' Eyeshadow - This is the brightest MAC eyeshadow I have to date and I am so excited to use it, it is described as 'pinky-coral with pink shimmer'. I am wearing pink at the weekend and I wanted an eyeshadow to match my outfit. This colour seems to be a hit from MAC, I have heard it mentioned a lot on Youtube and I can see why as it really stands out in the collection, now that I have all the neutral colours I need (I think) I have started to focus on bright and vibrant shades, I'm looking forward to trying some more daring eye looks!

My Holiday Beauty Essentials and Favourites

Of course I took all my make up and lots of toiletries on holiday but I have skipped the boring stuff and wrote a list of my favourite beauty products and must haves!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Medium Plus - I bought this just before I went to Ayia Napa because powder is a must have on holiday, I regularly topped up with this on my nights out as my skin became very oily as it is so hot. I always go back to MAC powders, they are my favourite because they are so light weight and long lasting.

MAC 'Tan' Pigment - This was the first MAC pigment I bought and I have used it frequently, MAC pigments may seem very pricey but they last forever. When working with clients or creating makeup looks on friends I have used this many times as it is so versatile and can be used with a neutral or vibrant look. I found myself using this a lot on holiday with MAC 'Soft brown' in the crease and using various darker colours in the outer corners. For someone looking to try a MAC pigment I would certainly recommend this.

MAC 'Candy Yum-Yum' Lipstick - I mentioned this in my recent MAC haul but only used it for the first time and holiday, I had wanted this lipstick for ages but was a little anxious to wear it as it is so bold but I was so pleased with the outcome and found it looked beautiful with so many makeup looks. I love the colour it is a fluorescent pink with purple tones. This colour is definitely in my top 5 MAC lipsticks, it is a must have pink but like all MAC satin finish lipsticks it can be a little drying on the lips.

Victorias Secret 'VS Fantasies' fragrance mist in 'Coconut Passion' - This is my favourite body spray ever, I can't get enough of it. I love the smell of coconut it just reminds me of summer but I could cry a little every time I spray it now as it reminds me of Ayia Napa.

Victorias Secret 'VS Fantasies' hydrating body lotion in 'Love Spell' - Unfortunately before I went on holiday I could not get my hands on the 'Coconut Passion' body lotion so I bought this instead which is another of my favourite VS scents. This is the second bottle of VS body lotion I have and I have now decided I'm not a fan, as lovely as they smell I don't think these lotions are 'hydrating' I like a moisturiser to leave my skin feeling nourished and glowing but this product just seemed to disappear, next time I will try a body butter.

Estee Lauder 'Bronze Goddess' Fragrance - I mentioned this in a recent post you can find here. Every girl needs a holiday perfume! I love this because it is so summery, now that I'm familiar with this perfume I would add to my previous description that is a very dusky and muted scent, the bottle is the perfect size and a little goes a long way! Grab it while you can as it limited edition for spring/summer.

Dove 'Summer Glow' in Medium/Dark - My face takes much longer to tan than the rest of my body so I applied this to my face daily to achieve a healthy glow which made me feel more comfortable when not wearing make up on a day time. I have used this a lot this summer, it is great because the colour is natural and it doesn't go streaky when used correctly however the smell is a big let down.

Real Techniques 'Stippling Brush' - I often get bored of using the same products and tools so I began using this brush to apply my foundation instead of the Real Techniques 'Expert Face Brush'. I enjoy using this brush because I believe I am using less product than before which leaves my foundation feeling super light weight.

Gelish in 'Make You Blink Pink' - This was one of the first Gelish colours I bought and it has always been my favourite colour in my collection but for some reason I never wore it myself till I went on holiday. I always have my nails painted pink on holiday but this is my favourite shade of pink, it is so bright and fluorescent which is perfect for holiday.
