MAC Haul

Below I have put together my most recent purchases from MAC, unfortunately this haul has been delayed, I was hoping to have this up sooner as some of the products listed are no longer available to buy at MAC counters or online as they are part of their 'Objects of Affection' holiday collection. However I couldn't pass the opportunity to review and share my thoughts on these gorgeous products.

'Objects of Affection'

Pink + Rose Pigments + Glitter
Heritage Rogue, Rose, Tan, Whisper Pink, Reigning Riches

Last year I bought 2 sets of MAC pigments and I have used them over and over again so I couldn't wait to get my hands on some more at the end of last year. This product was an absolute must have for me, I paid £26.00 for 5 stunning pigments where as before 1 have paid £17.00 for only 1 pigment - which of course is bigger but pigments last forever because only a very small amount of product is needed with each application.
I chose to go for the Pink + Rose selection because the colours are beautiful and unique and unlike what I already own and also reddish-pink tones are some of my favourite colours to use on myself because these shades really compliment my green eyes and make them pop. I've been loving creating glitter smokey eyes lately, which you may have seen in my previous post and this set includes a soft copper glitter which I can not wait to try out!
Like most MAC products the quality is fantastic and very much worth the money. So far I am very impressed and I am looking forward to creating some new and daring eye makeup looks with these fabulous pigments.

Nudes + Red Lipgloss
Love Alert, Dynasty At Dusk, Delight, Paper Lantern

I don't usually buy lip glosses as I prefer to wear lipstick all day/every day but when the opportunity arises to buy 4 MAC lip glosses for £26.00 I'm not going to turn it down. MAC lip glosses range from £13.50 - £19.00 so this kind of bargain cannot be looked upon.
This set includes 1 'Dazzle Glass' and 3 'Cremesheen Glass' lip glosses. I chose to go for the Nude + Red lip glosses because these colours are the most similar to the neutral and nude colours I usually wear (barring the red lip gloss). I'm very happy with the colours I chose and they look gorgeous worn individually or glossed over some of my favourite lipsticks. One of my new favourite MAC lip combinations is; 'Pink Treat' Cremestick liner and 'Merh' Lipstick with 'Delight' Cremesheen lip gloss. This purchase is also a great addition to my makeup kit and I'm sure any lip gloss I don't use on my self will be suited to some of my clients.

New Lip Products

'Brave' Lipstick
This lipstick was absolutely free because I used the Back 2 MAC scheme; recycling 6 empty containers through MAC to get a free lipstick in return.
I am running low on my current go-to MAC lipstick 'Merh' but instead of repurchasing it so soon, I thought I would try something a little different. '
Brave' lipstick is a satin finish and the colour is described as 'Pink-beige with white pearl'. I like this lipstick but I have only worn it a couple of times and I am still getting use to it after wearing 'Merh' on my lips almost everyday for the past 3 months. These 2 lipsticks are very similar, 'Brave' is a great alternative for 'Merh' but is a slightly lighter, more pink colour. It is also much more moisturising which is a bonus as sometimes matte lipsticks can leave lips feeling dry, however I still prefer the look of matte lipstick and 'Merh' is still my absolute favourite!

'In Anticipation' Pro Longwear Lip Pencil
This has been on my makeup wish list for a while and I finally bought it a couple of weeks ago. I use 'Pink Treat' Cremestick Liner daily, it is a very neutral colour that works with my nude lipsticks however I wanted a pink liner and MAC describe this colour as 'soft yellow pink'. I bought this to wear with some of my favourite pink lipsticks such as 'Chatter Box' and 'Candy Yum-Yum'. Up to now I have only used this liner once but I can say I was impressed, it is very pigmented, it glides on smoothly which creates an easy application and it is very long lasting - much better than a regular MAC lip pencil such as 'Dervish'.

MAC Lipstick Collection

As you may have guessed from my previous posts MAC is my favourite brand of makeup. MAC are renowned for their prodigious lipstick collection. The quality and variety of MAC lipsticks is fantastic, the price ranges from £13.50 - £15.00 but the back 2 mac programme has helped me to build my collection quicker and cheaper.

(L-R Pure Zen, Pink Pearl Pop, Snob, Pink Plaid, Merh, Chatter Box, Girl About Town, Candy Yum-Yum, MAC Red)

'Pure Zen' - Described by MAC as 'frosted warm nude'. I would say this colour is a 'pinky peach' and it is the most neutral colour in my collection as it is pale and quite sheer which makes it great for a day time look. However it can also be used in an evening look, for example if I am wearing a smokey eye I usually prefer a more muted colour on my lips so I will use this paired with MAC Cremestick lip liner in 'Pink Treat'.

'Pink Pearl Pop' - Described by MAC as 'frosted midtonal pink'. This is a very girly lipstick, its a Barbie like pink with shimmer and it's quite sheer and has a glossy finish. I would say it is versatile and easy to wear day and night. Once over this would probably have been my favourite lipstick but I now prefer neutral colours.

'Snob' - Described by MAC as 'light neutral pink' and think it may be a satin' finish. I would say this is a very pale pink with purple undertones. Although this is a popular colour from MAC personally I am not a fan and I find that it really washes me out and I think this is because it is not suited to my skin tone.

'Pink Plaid' - Described by MAC as 'dirty blue-pink'. This lipstick is a neutral colour, it is similar to 'Snob' but darker, I haven't used this colour a lot and I think this may be because it was my first lipstick with a matte finish and on first impressions I didn't like how it left my lips feeling dry, however since then I have used other matte lipsticks and it doesn't bother so I am going to wear it more often as it a great every day colour.

'Merh' - This is also described by MAC as 'dirty blue-pink' and has a matte finish but I would say this darker and more brown than 'Pink Plaid'. I wear this with MAC Cremestick lip liner in 'Pink Treat' they are the perfect match and together the work a dream. This is my favourite lipstick because it so wearable and since buying I have used it almost every day and night.

'Chatter Box' - Described by Mac as 'bright red-pink' and is a amplified creme finish. This is one of my favourites in my collection, I would say it is quite a neutral pink and is a perfect everyday lipstick because it is so easy to wear. I like the finish of this lipstick because it is very pigmented as it is amplified but at the same time it keeps my lips feeling moisturised.

'Girl About Town' - Described by MAC as 'bright blue fuchsia'. This is a very popular lipstick from MAC, I would say this colour is like a berry pink but can look more red on camera. It has an amplified creme finish which means its super pigmented and applies so smoothly. This isn't a colour I wear very often but it looks great on the right occasion.

'Candy Yum-Yum' - Described by MAC as 'neon pink' and thats exactly what it is! This colour stands out a mile at the makeup counter and when I first seen it I fell in love and had to have it. This is another popular colour from MAC but again not something I would wear everyday, however I wore it religiously on holiday this year, its such a bold and bright colour which makes it perfect for summer. It is a matte finish so like I said previously it can be drying on the lips - but it looks so good I don't care! I must also mention this lipstick will leave a temporary pink stain on your lips after wear but that isn't a problem for me.

'MAC Red' - This is described by MAC as 'vidid bright bluish-red' and is a satin finish. Everyone needs a red in their lipstick collection and for me one is enough as I am not particularly a fan on red lips. I bought this a long time ago and I'm not sure why I chose this over the other reds in the collection but it does seem to be a popular choice. If a classic red lip with no shimmer and no frost is what you are looking for I would recommend this to you.

New Makeup Haul

MAC 'Mehr' Lipstick - I specifically went to the MAC counter for a lipstick because I had mentioned in my previous wish list post that I was looking for a colour similar to what Kylie Jenner had been sporting. When browsing lipsticks and eyeshadows I reach for the colours that catch my eye and because I was looking for a 'dark browny pink' shade I instantly picked 'Mehr' up, which is not a colour I had mentioned in my wish list. I swatched the colour on my hand and I really liked the look of it but before buying I asked one of the makeup artists to show me 'Velvet Teddy' which she then told me is out of stock, I didn't want to walk away with out a lipstick so I decided on Mehr as I thought it was closest to the colour I had been looking for, possibly a little darker but I love it. In my wish list I had also mentioned the colours 'Faux' and 'Twig' but after doing more research I thought 'Faux' was too light and sheer and 'Twig' was lighter than I was looking for too but I would possibly buy that in the future. MAC describes this colour as 'dirty blue pink' which is an interesting way to describe it. I usually don't like to buy MAC lipsticks instead I wait until I have 6 empty containers so that I can earn a free lipstick through the 'Back to MAC' programme but unfortunately this time I was 2 short of a free lipstick!

MAC 'Pink Treat' Cremestick Liner - After choosing a lipstick I asked the makeup artist to match up a lip liner. She asked me if I was going for the 'Kylie Jenner look' which I'm sure is a frequently asked question at the counter, she then told me that this is in fact the lip liner Kylie uses herself and luckily it was in stock. I'm so pleased with this liner it is so easy to use because it glides on so smoothly and it stays in place and lasts much longer than any other liner I have used.  I have been using MAC 'Dervish' lip pencial for some time now which wears off very easily so I would definitely recommend the MAC Cremestick liners over the regular lip pencils which are the same price.

In this picture I am using both 'Pink Treat' cremestick liner and 'Mehr' lipstick

MAC 'Girlie' Eyeshadow - I couldn't leave the counter with out picking up an eyeshadow to fill a space in my palette. I was looking for a dusky pink colour mostly to use for a simple everyday look instead of using browns and neutrals. I probably could have picked a better colour but it was a last minute decision however I used it last night as a base colour for a smokey eye and I was pleased with the outcome. This colour is described as 'rosy-pink with subtle shimmer'.

In this picture I have incorporated 'Girlie' eyeshadow in a smokey eye along with MAC 'Quarry' 'Sketch' 'Mulch' 'Gleam' 'Shroom' eyeshadows, MAC liquid eyeliner, Barry M Lash Vegas Mascara and I used my HD Brow and Eye palette to fill in my eyebrows.

MAC Liquid Eye Liner -  I always buy MAC liquidlast eye liner and I swear by it but this time I thought I would go for something different, which was a mistake. Although I am getting use to the different applicator which possibly makes for a more precise finish than the liquidlast brush, I find this liner smudges and wears off easier when worn on its own with out eyeshadow.

I also repurchased 2 of my must have and favourite makeup products which are the MAC Pro Concealer Palette and Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation.

24/09 OOTD

blouse - Warehouse
skirt - River Island
shoes - River Island

I have recently been buying my first winter purchases including this leather skirt, I wore it for the first time on this day and seen as though winter hasn't hit us just yet, I brightened the skirt up with some neon colours. I love this skirt its really comfortable and a great fit and I can see my self wearing it a lot through out the winter as it can be worn day and night time. The orange shoes are also a recent purchase, I seen them and had to have them I am obsessed with points and want a pair in every colour. Surprisingly these shoes look great with a lot of outfits as colour clash is on trend. I opted for silvery chunky jewellery with this outfit which I borrowed from my mam. I wore my hair in a wavy pony tail and went for a neutral makeup look with a bold lip using MAC 'Candy Yum-Yum' lipstick which is the same colour as my blouse.

September Makeup Wishlist

Again it has been a couple of weeks since I last wrote a blog post and thats because I have been so busy but I'm back and I have a lot to talk about. I have a few posts lined up but I wanted to start with this one because I feel like I haven't talked about makeup for such a long time and I am dying to splurge at some of my favourite makeup counters.

MAC 'Velvet Teddy' Lipstick - I have always went for pink lipsticks but lately I have preferred a nude/brown lip colour and my main inspiration for that is Kylie Jenner, not only am I obsessed with her wardrobe but I love her makeup, in particular her lips. I've done some research on what lipstick Kylie uses and three colours from MAC come up they are called; 'Faux' 'Twig' and 'Velvet Teddy'. I was pleased to know that the lipstick she uses are MAC because it is my favourite brand and I am wanting to expand my collection. I think I will go for 'Velvet Teddy' because I think that colour will suit me best but the next time I am at a counter I will be asking for some advice on what I should go for to achieve the colour I am hoping for.

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder - This is a product I have wanted to get my hands on for ages. I recently bought MAC 'Matte Bronze' bronzing powder and after using it for a while I have decided I am not happy with the colour, I think the product is good for contouring but not for an all over bronze glow. Terracotta bronzing powder is a legendary makeup product and I have heard so many great reviews about it and I'm dying to try it.

Also I have 4 spaces left in my MAC palette and I'm trying to decide which eyeshadows should fill up the last spaces. I think I have all the neutral colours I need so I'm focusing on bright colours, I already have a few different shades or purple so I'm thinking I will go for a bright pink and maybe a deep blue. I can't say exactly what colours I will choose as its hard to judge colours online but I will post a haul whenever I buy them.

Its getting to that time where I am running out of all of my everyday products such as my foundation, eyeliner and concealer. It seems they always run out at the same time and it ends up costing me a small fortune to repurchase them. I will definitely be repurchasing my favourite Charlotte Tilbury foundation which I have raved about in previous posts and I will be buying probably my 10th MAC Liquidlast eyeliner. I have been using the MAC Pro Concealer Palette since the beginning of the year and I have used almost all of it, this product is quite pricey but it is great value for money as it holds 6 different shades of concealer and it has lasted me so long so I will also be buying this again.

Small MAC Haul

MAC 'Chatterbox' Lipstick - Whats more exciting than a new MAC lipstick? A new free MAC lipstick! If you didn't already know about the Back 2 MAC programme heres the low down - take any 6 empty MAC containers and in return you get a free lipstick of your choice. It can be hard to pick from the collection unless you already had a colour in mind, which I didn't this time so I was holding 5 shades of pink and had various swatches on my hand but in the end I decided on 'Chattebox' as I had seen this in tutorials before and thought it looked lovely. The colour is described as 'bright red-pink' I have tried so many MAC lipsticks looking for an everyday pink and this is perfect, although it certainly can be worn for a night time look too, I can see this one going down fast!

MAC 'Club' Eyeshadow - So I couldn't go to the MAC counter and just walk away with a lipstick, especially when there is still slots to be filled in my MAC eyeshadow palette. Every time I'm at the eyeshadow stall I find myself picking up colours I already have because they stand out the most to me but this time 'Club' caught my eye, I swatched it on my hand and thought it was so similar to the MAC 'Blue Brown' pigment which I had mentioned in my 'June Makeup Wishlist' so I decided instead of spending £17.00 on a pigment I would only spend £10.00 for this eyeshadow. This colour is described as 'red-brown with green pearl' and 'Blue Brown' is described as 'brown with blue-green pearl'.

MAC 'Sushi Flower' Eyeshadow - This is the brightest MAC eyeshadow I have to date and I am so excited to use it, it is described as 'pinky-coral with pink shimmer'. I am wearing pink at the weekend and I wanted an eyeshadow to match my outfit. This colour seems to be a hit from MAC, I have heard it mentioned a lot on Youtube and I can see why as it really stands out in the collection, now that I have all the neutral colours I need (I think) I have started to focus on bright and vibrant shades, I'm looking forward to trying some more daring eye looks!

My Holiday Beauty Essentials and Favourites

Of course I took all my make up and lots of toiletries on holiday but I have skipped the boring stuff and wrote a list of my favourite beauty products and must haves!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Medium Plus - I bought this just before I went to Ayia Napa because powder is a must have on holiday, I regularly topped up with this on my nights out as my skin became very oily as it is so hot. I always go back to MAC powders, they are my favourite because they are so light weight and long lasting.

MAC 'Tan' Pigment - This was the first MAC pigment I bought and I have used it frequently, MAC pigments may seem very pricey but they last forever. When working with clients or creating makeup looks on friends I have used this many times as it is so versatile and can be used with a neutral or vibrant look. I found myself using this a lot on holiday with MAC 'Soft brown' in the crease and using various darker colours in the outer corners. For someone looking to try a MAC pigment I would certainly recommend this.

MAC 'Candy Yum-Yum' Lipstick - I mentioned this in my recent MAC haul but only used it for the first time and holiday, I had wanted this lipstick for ages but was a little anxious to wear it as it is so bold but I was so pleased with the outcome and found it looked beautiful with so many makeup looks. I love the colour it is a fluorescent pink with purple tones. This colour is definitely in my top 5 MAC lipsticks, it is a must have pink but like all MAC satin finish lipsticks it can be a little drying on the lips.

Victorias Secret 'VS Fantasies' fragrance mist in 'Coconut Passion' - This is my favourite body spray ever, I can't get enough of it. I love the smell of coconut it just reminds me of summer but I could cry a little every time I spray it now as it reminds me of Ayia Napa.

Victorias Secret 'VS Fantasies' hydrating body lotion in 'Love Spell' - Unfortunately before I went on holiday I could not get my hands on the 'Coconut Passion' body lotion so I bought this instead which is another of my favourite VS scents. This is the second bottle of VS body lotion I have and I have now decided I'm not a fan, as lovely as they smell I don't think these lotions are 'hydrating' I like a moisturiser to leave my skin feeling nourished and glowing but this product just seemed to disappear, next time I will try a body butter.

Estee Lauder 'Bronze Goddess' Fragrance - I mentioned this in a recent post you can find here. Every girl needs a holiday perfume! I love this because it is so summery, now that I'm familiar with this perfume I would add to my previous description that is a very dusky and muted scent, the bottle is the perfect size and a little goes a long way! Grab it while you can as it limited edition for spring/summer.

Dove 'Summer Glow' in Medium/Dark - My face takes much longer to tan than the rest of my body so I applied this to my face daily to achieve a healthy glow which made me feel more comfortable when not wearing make up on a day time. I have used this a lot this summer, it is great because the colour is natural and it doesn't go streaky when used correctly however the smell is a big let down.

Real Techniques 'Stippling Brush' - I often get bored of using the same products and tools so I began using this brush to apply my foundation instead of the Real Techniques 'Expert Face Brush'. I enjoy using this brush because I believe I am using less product than before which leaves my foundation feeling super light weight.

Gelish in 'Make You Blink Pink' - This was one of the first Gelish colours I bought and it has always been my favourite colour in my collection but for some reason I never wore it myself till I went on holiday. I always have my nails painted pink on holiday but this is my favourite shade of pink, it is so bright and fluorescent which is perfect for holiday.

Quote Of The Week

May Makeup Wish List

Starting from now, once every month I will be creating a makeup wish list. In the collage above I have put together some makeup items I am hoping to buy in the near future.

1. MAC 'CANDY YUM-YUM' Lipstick - I keep eyeing up this colour when I am at a MAC Counter but have not yet bought it, last time I chose 'Pure Zen' over this because I was looking for an every day colour. 'Candy Yum-Yum' is a very popular colour from MAC and has some great reviews. It is a very vivid, almost neon fuschia colour, if there was ever a shocking pink this is it!

2. NARS 'Turkish Delight' Lipstick - Basically this colour is a favourite of Kim Kardashian so I have to have it! I usually buy MAC lip glosses but I'm dying to try some NARS products and with this being a big seller from the brand I think its a good place to start. This would be the perfect every day lip gloss and it would also look gorgeous with some smokey eyes.

3. Stila 'Dusty Rose' Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow in - The Stila metallic eye shadows come in a range of colours, but at around £33.00 per pot they are rather pricey so I have picked my favourite colour from the range and hope to eventually build a collection. Although this product is expensive I have read reviews which say the eyeshadows are worth every penny. I have seen various youtubers using this product and I must say they do look gorgeous!

4. MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter - I am currently using Rimmel 'Wake Me up' concealer as my under eye highlight and also as a highlight when contouring, I have almost ran out of that so I am planning to replace it with MAC Prep + Prime as I have heard great reviews about it. I am usually happy with MAC products so I am sure this wont disappoint.

5. MAC 'In Anticipation' Pro Longwear Lip Pencil - If you are going to buy a MAC Lip Pencil I would definitely go for a Pro Longwear rather than a regular lip pencil. The Pro Longwear pencils stain your lips so the colour lasts hours where as I feel the others wear off really easily. The colour 'In Anticipation' is versatile and could be used with nude pink lipsticks as well as bright pinks. I think this lip pencil would be a useful addition to my makeup kit.

6. MAC 'Retrospeck' Eyeshadow - Another product I have heard good reviews about and again I have seen a lot of youtubers referring to this colour, in particular Tanya Burr. However I have heard this colour looks better against lighter skin tones so I will have to ensure this colour will work for me before purchasing. I have space left for one more eyeshadow in my MAC neutral palette so this is possibly the colour I will go for.

7. Crown Brush 10 Colour Concealer Palette - This is a very popular product used by many beauty bloggers and youtubers. There are a lot of similar products on the market but I want to go for a brand I know of. This palette will be great for concealing but I will use it mostly for contouring, there will be a shade to work with for all skin tones so I can use this on clients as well as myself.

8. Benefit 'Watt's Up' Highlighter - I only wear a cheekbone highlight when I am going for a full on makeup look for a night time or special occasion and when I do I use MAC 'Gleam' eyeshadow. However I am looking for a more subtle high light and I prefer cream highlighters as I think the finish with a cream is more 'glowy'. I have tried Benefits 'High Beam' and 'Moon Beam' highlighters in the past and I loved those so I am sure this one will be gorgeous too!

My 5 Favourite Makeup Products At The Moment

Benefit 'That Gal' Brightening Primer

I have recently fell in love with this product after using up a sample I received when I bought the Benefit 'Porefessional' Primer, as soon as I ran out of the sample I purchased it in full size. There is so much to like about this product; some of the ingredients in this primer are raspberry and camomile which gives it a gorgeous, refreshing fruity smell. The texture is like silk, it applies so smoothly and creates the perfect base for foundation. The primer does what it says on the label, it truly does brighten up my skin even when foundation is applied on top my skin in still glowing. Also it does the job of keeping my makeup in place. 'That Gal' is now my favourite primer and part of my everyday makeup routine.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere 50 Beige

I think I may have found my perfect foundation! As I have said before I have tried Chanel Vita Lumiere and Lift Lumiere, along with many other foundations and was dissatisfied with them, but this one is 'perfection'. It answers all my prayers when it comes to foundation; the coverage, colour, finish and durability tick all the boxes. Initially I thought that Perfection Lumiere might be too heavy for me as it is described as a full coverage and matte finish foundation. So I tried a sample first and found that the coverage is adjustable, meaning you can build the foundation up to create the coverage and finish to suit you. This and 'That Gal' primer are a perfect combination.

MAC 'Painterly' Paint Pot

This product creates the perfect smooth base for eyeshadow making it easier to apply and blend and prevents the eyeshadow from creasing and wearing off through out the day/night. I use this every time I apply eyeshadow.

MAC 'Pure Zen' Lipstick

This semi sheer peach/pink lipstick is my favourite nude colour to date. It is the perfect everyday lipstick and also works with so many makeup looks. This lipstick is a Creamsheen formula, the finish is more like that of a lipgloss and is really moisturising. This teamed with MAC 'Dervish' lip pencil is my go-to at the moment.

MAC 'Mulch' Eyeshadow

The colour 'Mulch' is described as 'red brown with bronze pearl'. One of the reasons I love this eyeshadow is because I think it makes my green eyes 'pop'. Like most MAC eyeshadows it is well pigmented and so easy to work with and blend.
This colour is so easy to work with, it looks gorgeous on its own applied all over the lid and below the lower lash line, I wore this last week and it reminded me of a Mila Kunis eye makeup look I had seen. This colour also works with so many colours, I use it alot in the outer corners teamed with colours such as MAC 'All That Glitters' or 'Patina'. I find myself referring to this colour a lot and it is definitely one of my most used colours in my palette.

In the following images I have incorporated 'Mulch' in to 2 eye looks...

1.
MAC 'Painterly' Paint Pot
MAC 'All That Glitters' eyelids
MAC 'Cork' in crease and blended out
MAC 'Mulch' outer corners and lower lash lines
MAC 'Shroom' inner corners and brow bones
MAC Liquidlast Liner 'Point Black' top lash lines and water lines
HD Pro Eye and Brow Pro Palette 'Medium Brown' brows

2.
MAC 'Painterly' Paint Pot
MAC 'Mulch' eyelids and blended slightly above crease and on lower lash lines
MAC 'Wedge' used as a transition colour above crease to blend out 'Mulch'
MAC Liquidlast Liner 'Point Black' water lines
